5 MINUTE SETUP

Stream Capture Setup

Send us a copy of your stream so we get the original, unmuted audio. Zero risk to your main broadcast.

WHY DO THIS

Twitch mutes your VODs. We capture the original.

When Twitch detects copyrighted music, it silences entire sections of your VOD. That muted audio ends up in any content clipped from it. By sending us a secondary copy of your stream in real-time, we capture the original audio before Twitch processes it.

This is optional. Without it, we use your Twitch VOD as-is. With it, you get perfect audio on every video we produce.
CHOOSE YOUR SOFTWARE

OBS Studio + Multi-Output Plugin

The easiest method. A free plugin adds a secondary output panel to OBS.

  1. Download the plugin: obs-multi-rtmp — pick the latest release for your OS
  2. Install it — close OBS first, then run the installer (or extract to your OBS plugins folder)
  3. Restart OBS — go to Docks → Multiple Output
  4. Click "Add new target" in the Multiple Output dock
  5. Set the Name to Reruns
  6. Set Server to the RTMP URL we gave you
  7. Set Key to your stream key
  8. Click Start on the Reruns target when you go live
Your Twitch/YouTube stream runs completely independently. If our server goes down, your main stream is unaffected. Click Stop on the Reruns target anytime to disconnect.

OBS Studio — FFmpeg Custom Output (No Plugin)

Uses OBS's built-in FFmpeg output. No plugin installation needed.

  1. Open OBS → Settings → Output
  2. Set Output Mode to Advanced
  3. Go to the Recording tab
  4. Set Type to Custom Output (FFmpeg)
  5. Set File path or URL to: rtmp://SERVER/live/YOUR_KEY
  6. Container Format: flv
  7. Click Start Recording when you go live
The "Start Recording" button sends your stream to Reruns, not to a local file. Your main stream output is unaffected.

Streamlabs Desktop

Streamlabs doesn't natively support secondary stream outputs.

  1. Option A (recommended): Switch to OBS Studio — free, more flexible, supports plugins
  2. Option B: Use Restream.io to forward your stream to both Twitch and Reruns simultaneously
  3. Option C: Contact us for a local RTMP relay script that bridges Streamlabs to Reruns
We strongly recommend OBS Studio for the best experience. It's free, open source, and used by the majority of professional streamers.

SRT Protocol (Lower Latency, Built-in Encryption)

For advanced users who prefer SRT over RTMP. Built-in AES encryption and better error correction.

  1. In OBS, set your secondary output URL to:
    srt://SERVER:9710?streamid=YOUR_KEY&latency=2000000
  2. Latency of 2000ms (2 seconds) is recommended for reliability
SRT provides AES-128/256 encryption in transit by default. No additional configuration needed.
YOUR CREDENTIALS

Server URL and Stream Key

Your connection details were sent to you via email or secure message when you signed up. They look like this:

RTMP Server: rtmp://ingest.reruns.tv/live

Stream Key: yourname:1234567890_abc123:64charhexsig

Keep your stream key private. Treat it like a password. If compromised, contact us immediately and we'll rotate it.

ZERO RISK TO YOUR STREAM

This is a secondary output from your streaming software. Your main Twitch/YouTube stream is completely independent.

  • If our server goes down, your main stream continues normally
  • No additional CPU load (reuses your existing encoder)
  • Click Stop anytime to disconnect
  • Your viewers see nothing different

COMMON QUESTIONS

Does this affect my stream quality or FPS?

No. The secondary output reuses your existing encoder. It adds virtually zero CPU overhead.

What if I forget to start the Reruns output?

We'll still process your Twitch VOD normally. You just won't get the unmuted audio for that stream. No content is lost.

Can I manage my raw recordings?

Yes. Log into your dashboard to list, download, or delete recordings at any time.

What happens to the recordings?

They're processed through our AI pipeline into finished YouTube content. You review and approve everything before it goes public. Nothing is ever published without your explicit approval.
